With his 118th aerial victory on September 2, 1944, Borschers scored JG 52s 10,000th victory. On February 1, 1945 he became the reluctant commander of III./JG 52, after the younger Hartmann took over Borchers first Gruppen. When the war was over, he and many of his fellow pilots went into a long lasting Soviet captivity. Adolf Borchers amassed 132 victories in approximately 800 sorties. |
